Two-Wheeled Fun For Toddlers At Daytona International Speedway March 9-11

Rapid City, SD (February 14, 2013) — Strider Sports International, the world’s premier manufacturer and marketer of children’s no-pedal balance bikes, is bringing their Strider Adventure Zone to the Monster Energy Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross (RCSX) March 9-11, 2013 at Daytona International Speedway, 1801 West International Speedway Blvd, Daytona Beach, FL 32114.

This STRIDER® Adventure Zone will be open for all three days of the event: March 9-11 Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). The Adventure Zone gives kids 18 months to five years old a chance to test ride a STRIDER™, play with other kids, and develop balance and coordination in a STRIDER-designed area. This safe and friendly environment encourages kids to explore mobility on two wheels and experience the challenge and thrill of riding a STRIDER on unique terrains and obstacles.

The RCSX gives amateur racers the unprecedented opportunity to compete on one of the most prestigious motorsports grounds in the world for two days of racing. For riders, family, friends, and fans, there isn’t another event anywhere in the world that presents such a potent package, making this an instant can’t-miss event on the amateur motocross schedule.

As always, the full weekend includes: Saturday night’s Daytona Supercross by Honda, where the fastest Supercross riders in the world go to battle. The facility will then open its doors to amateur riders and their families, who are welcome to camp on the Daytona infield and watch Saturday’s professional action before taking the track Sunday and Monday.

Strider Sports International CEO Ryan McFarland says, “At Strider, we love seeing little kids light up with excitement when they get the first taste of riding. Getting the next Ricky Carmichael on a bike earlier than ever is what we do at Strider, so bringing the Strider Adventure Zone to the Ricky Carmichael Amateur Supercross couldn’t be a better fit.”

Happy New Year From STRIDER!

It has been another Amazing year at Strider Sports International! The 2013 STRIDER ST-3 was full of cool new improvements on an already (in our opinion) cool little bike. The STRIDER calendar contest was a huge hit! Look for them on the walls of STRIDER dealers all over the country, you can also order one for yourself HERE. Another highlight was the 2012 STRIDER World Championships. With racers ranging from 18 months to 5 years old from as far away as Japan and Slovakia, the 2nd annual racing weekend at Sarasota BMX was a huge success!

With almost 100,000 new STRIDER riders in 2012, 2013 is already shaping up to be a great year!

Happy New Years!

STRIDER Dealer Spotlight: Hap's Cycle

Hap's Cycle is a family owned (2nd generation) and operated shop in Sarasota, Florida. Hap's was founded in 1948 as a Harley dealership and became the 5th Honda dealer in the country when they made the switch in 1961! All of the 22 employees, including the owners Alice, David, & Bob, are bmx and motorcycle enthusiasts.

Ninety year old Uncle Kenny was the first employee hired in 1949. Where is Uncle Kenny today? You can find him driving his convertible Roush Mustang to work or back in the warehouse whipping donuts (we presume) on the company forklift.

In 1974 Alice Bixler got involved with BMX racing with her kids at Sarasota BMX. In 2011 her grandson Gavin competed in the inaugural STRIDER World Championship at the very same track that Alice's kids starting riding at! The entire Hap's cycle crew is excited about the next generation of 2 wheeled enthusiasts!

This commitment to two wheeled fun, from STRIDER bikes to custom racing motorcycles, is the reason Hap's Cycle Sales is the first installment of the STRIDER Dealer Spotlight!

After two days focused on STRIDER Racing it's going to be time to rest and relax...Sunday (10/14) is going to be the perfect day for both!

We'll start the day playing at Lido beach right behind The Helmsley Sandcastle (host hotel).  Ride on the beach, Swim, bury Mom and Dad in the sand, and see how far you can coast into the ocean on your STRIDER!

At 11:00 am we'll gather on the beach for a STRIDER Surf Beach Parade! At 11:30 the STRIDER bike toss is the perfect chance for the bigger kids (aka Mom and Dad) to show off their muscles. Whoever throws the STRIDER bike the farthest gets...BRAGGING RIGHTS for an entire year!

Ride In The Grass, Play At The Park

Between 4:00pm and 6:00pm we'll have trolley's heading to Payne Park. This is a local STRIDER rider favorite with an amazing new playground, grassy hills, and a challenging skate park there's sure to be something for everybody.

At 6:00 we're heading downtown for a STRIDER stroll and Dinner. The trolleys will be picking up STRIDER families at the corner or Lemon and Main St from 8:00 to 9:00pm.

2 Year Old's First Time At The Pump Track

We've said it before and we're saying it again; Pump Tracks are great fun for STRIDER riding! They also seem to be popping up all over the place. Cities and counties are including them in parks, almost every BMX track has one and more ambitious parents are building them in their backyards!

Here is a great new video of a 2 year old and his first time on the brand new Markham Park pump track in Florida. I kept looking for gator snouts poking out of the water behind him.

Have an awesome Saturday! Now get outside and have some fun!
