Results Are In From the Gator Nationals!

Sun, sand and warm weather are the first things that come into mind when thinking of Florida. The Gator Nationals had none of these things...with cool weather and high winds the STRIDER World Cup racers had to keep moving to stay warm.

Luckily, the competition was fast paced and the STRIDER racers stayed warm and had a great time!

Were you at the Gator Nationals? Head over to StriderLife and share your photos, video and stories from Sunny Florida!

Striders, Manatees and Dolphins...Oh My!

The Strider World Championship is going to be a great time for the entire family.  There is a packed schedule: Strider Rider Clinic, BBQ, Last Chance Qualifier, Time for parents with free childcare, a Luau, and much, much more!

If you're looking for some additional things to do on your downtime (other than sleep) in Sarasota for the Strider World Championship Here are 3 cool suggestions! Head over to Strider Life and give suggestions if you live near or have been to Sarasota before.

1. Kayak Tour of the Mangrove Tunnels in South Lido County Park - Across the street from the Helmsley Sandcastle (Strider HQ) is South Lido County Park.  This would be a great way to make family memories paddling a kayak with the Manatees and Dolphins that frequent the area from March to December.

2. Mote Marine Laboratory - Another great way to see marine life, Mote Marine Lab is only 2.5 miles away from Strider HQ and is free for kids under 4!  At Mote, you can explore the secrets of the sea through touch pools, viewable-working labs and high-tech interactive exhibits that showcase the world-renowned research of Mote Marine Laboratory. See sharks, dolphins, manatees and sea turtles, along with more than 100 other species of marine life.

3. Sitting and Relaxing on the Lido Key Beaches - Walk out of your Room at the Helmsley Sandcastle to beautiful white sand beaches and the warm Gulf (Average water temps in the low 80's for October!) waters.  This is the perfect (free) way to have some quality relaxation time with your Strider riders between all of the other events.  Search for shells, built a sandcastle, bury Mom or Dad in the sand...the possibilities are limited to your imagination!
