The February STRIDER Calendar Contest winners have been chosen! Once again, a huge thanks to everyone for entering and make sure that you're snapping more great photos for the March Contest!
Without further ado, here are the winners for February.
1st Place - My Cat Thinks I'm A Rockstar
2nd Place - Future Nitro Circus Star
3rd Place - Feet Up Through The Puddle
The STRIDER Super 16 was developed for older kids still having balance issues, and playing around at the skate park. Chris, our South African distributor, is a big BMX rider and thought it would be fun to see what a local racer could do with it. The results are pretty cool!
If you thought STRIDER Bikes were only for toddlers, think again.
Now get outside and have a great Saturday!
Check out this fun video from the Super Enduro in Liverpool, UK. An enduro course is a great example of what can be done on a STRIDER! Riding over/around tires, over 2x4's, and through soft dirt would be nearly impossible for a toddler on a heavy training wheeled bike or tricycle.
If you're in STRIDERville (aka Rapid City, SD) make sure to keep watching for info on STRIDER racing on January 4th at the Extreme Indoor Enduro!
Now get outside and have a great Saturday!

Progress on a Strider is different with every individual; Some kids jump right on and never look back, Others are very slow at getting the feel for it, while others may get right on and take off only to leave it alone for what seems like forever.
We get countless emails, facebook updates, Tweets, phone calls and Strider Life threads regarding Strider successes. This YouTube video is a great example of the middle ground between a beginning rider and a more experienced rider.
George Strides around an old mini-golf course, Striding though narrow gaps, up and down small curbs and does it all with an adorable Scottish accent.

We've been getting a lot of questions lately concerning the different levels of skill for riders. When my daughter first got her Strider as an 18 month old she mostly spun the wheels with the bike laying on the ground. At the time I kept wondering if she would ever ride it. When she did straddle the Strider most of her time was spent walking with her butt off the seat.
Nine months later I can barely believe how competent she has become. She wants to ride ALL the time and when there are other Strider riders around she is cruising right along with them. She's still working on balancing with her feet off the ground for extended distances, but now I know that it is the next step in her Strider progression and it will happen soon enough!
Here is a great video that comes out of Germany where the generic term for balance bike is 'laufrad'. We like this video because it shows an 18 month old Strider rider taking his first steps with his new Green Strider. Hopefully this video will give you an idea of the beginning process on a Strider. Good luck and happy Striding!
We found a great GoPro video of Devin on his orange Strider! Devin's camera is mounted on his handlebars and bike frame to give you a totally different perspective on the Strider experience.
When Devin lets out his YAHOO! we bet you can't keep from smiling...we couldn't.
You've seen the Double Trouble in previous Strider blog entries, now see it in action! Wyatt and Cole, sons of Strider R&D man Charlie, test ride their Dad's creation to see if they can cooperate long enough to make it work.
Cole's legs are a little shorter than Wyatt's, but this is definitely the best test ride to date!
Warning: Great review followed by a video with some nasty trike/training wheel crashes.
"We bought two Striders for our 2.5 year old twins who had been really struggling with trying to peddle a tricycle. Within a couple of days they were zipping down the slight incline on our gravel driveway, and really balancing with no adult training required.
We saw them crash many times trying to negotiate riding a tricycle, but they really learned to balance quite easily on the Strider bike. It is well and thoughtfully engineered, strong, but light in weight for small kids.
5 out of 5 stars! Highly recommended!!!!" -- (Jay in Ohio)
