Night Time Is The Right Time!

There is something about riding a bike at night...Jane has already discovered this at the age of 3. With the lack of daylight hours in Striderville lights are even a good idea before dinner! Here is the story from her Mom.

"We came home at 7:30 last night. As I parked the car, 3-year-old Jane asked, "Mommy, ride my bike please?" I hesitated long enough to remember that we keep bike lights charged and she already had her jacket on. "Sure honey!" So Jane had her first night ride on her Strider. So rad! Thanks for a great product!"

Hopefully there are many more night rides in her biking future!

Have a great weekend whether you get out for a ride at night or not.

Henry has been the subject of at least one other blog post, this great video find from YouTube gets him in again.  He is a little Strider Shredder from Colorado! At 26 months old his Dad was so excited he dubbed him a "Strider Bike Master"!  His sister, Sammi is already tearing up the pump track with a little help from Dad! The Go Pro videos are always a neat way to experience Strider riding from a different perspective. The smile on the face of the Henry is fun to see!

Have a Great Monday wherever you may be!  If you're in Colorado make sure you check us out all week at the finish festivals for the USA Pro Cycling Challenge and at the Strider World Cup race on the final day (August 28th) in Denver!  We'll have the largest Strider World Cup race to date only 2 blocks from the largest single sporting event in Colorado history! Try Not To Smile!

We've got a lot of stuff going on here at Strider Sports International: First visit to the Outdoor Retailer Show in Salt Lake City, Strider Adventure Zones at 6 Stops of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge with what will be the largest 'Strider World Cup' Race on the final day in downtown Denver, 5 more Strider World Cup races on the schedule, www.StriderLife.com taking off with some great conversations from parents and Strider fans and our Facebook page crossing the 2,000 fan threshold!

In the midst of all this activity it's nice to step back and remember why we do what we do.  This great video from a Strider parent is just such a reminder.  At Strider, we want to teach kids balance and foster a love for all things two wheeled.  A great side effect is that parents are enjoying quality time with their kids and involving them in things that they are passionate about.

Watch this video of Alex out for a ride with his Dad and try not to smile...we dare you!

Calling All Colorado Strider Fans!

Strider World Cup Sprints into the USA Pro Cycling Challenge!

Toddlers take to the track at the USAPCC Finish Festival August 28th in Downtown Denver

Rapid City, SD (July 27, 2011) -- Strider Sports International, the world’s premier no-pedal balance bike manufacturer, is bringing their Strider World Cup™ to the final stage of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge on Sunday, August 28th in Denver, Colorado.

As part of the USAPCC Finish Line Festival the Strider World Cup event showcases head-to-head Strider races between children ages two to five. Every Strider racer will receive a Team Strider t-shirt, a Strider handlebar bag/number plate, and a souvenir Strider cowbell for Mom or Dad to ring during the race.  Every racer will also earn a medal for participation in the race and the top three finishers in each age group will be awarded trophies during a finish line podium ceremony.  If you’ve not seen a toddler trophy ceremony, you’re in for a treat!  Pre-registration is required.  Race entry fee is $25.  Limited to 200 racers.

The season-long Strider World Cup™ series gives toddlers the chance for friendly competition at events across the country. By participating at the USA Pro Cycling Challenge Strider Cup event, riders will be eligible for the Strider World Championship in Sarasota, Florida this October where they can compete with children from Japan and Europe.

The USA Pro Cycling Challenge is expected to be the largest spectator event in Colorado history and one of the largest sporting events to ever take place in the United States. For seven consecutive days, 128 of the world’s top athletes will race over 500 miles through the majestic Rockies -- reaching higher altitudes than they’ve ever had to endure -- more than two miles in elevation.

Strider Sports International CEO Ryan McFarland says, “The USA Pro Cycling Challenge is a natural fit to help promote Strider Cup Racing and the Strider Adventure Zone program as we believe it will further fuel that budding passion for riding on two wheels and inspire kids to get outside, get on a bike, and give it try.”

In addition to the Sunday finish line festival, Strider Adventure Zones (free demo ride and play areas) will be available to the public at the finish of each of the six stage races beginning Monday, August 22nd in Colorado Springs, Tuesday in Crested Butte, Wednesday in Aspen, Thursday in Vail, Friday in Steamboat Springs, Saturday in Breckenridge, and Sunday in Denver.

Strider at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca!

The Strider World Cup racing action at the Mazda raceway Laguna Seca was amazing!

We had 30 racers show up for the big event with many others stopping by just to do some Strider test rides. We even had six of our test riders from Saturday decide to race in the Strider World Cup on Sunday after only having ridden a Strider for a couple hours!

One couple drove for 5 hours to bring their Son (Jacob) ride in the Strider World Cup. "He placed last, but we had a blast!" ~Mom

The crowd was very enthusiastic as well.  We had to discourage some who were contemplating placing bets on the racers.  Another fan told us that "The Strider World Cup was the best race that he'd seen all week-end"

We have to agree with all the sentiments.  Thank You to all who came out, tested, raced, retweeted, etc during the Red Bull US Grand Prix!

See You Next Year!

Strider Family Fun Day!

[caption id="attachment_2151" align="aligncenter" width="614" caption="Everybody present and accounted for!"][/caption]

On Saturday, the sixteenth of July, Strider Staff and Family got together for a bike ride on the Mickelson Trail in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota.

An especially scenic ten mile section was chosen from over 100 available miles to ride.  A great time was had by all from the youngest (Finian 9 months) to the oldest Joe "Grillmaster" McFarland (We're not telling).

Most of the Strider riders rode for a mile or two then took a break in a pull-behind trailer or riding up front with a parent.  One of the many advantages of a Strider is how light-weight they are and how easily they can be attached to a trailer or stroller!

The weather peaked in the 90's with a nice breeze, but riding through the canyons, over bridges and even through an old railway tunnel kept it fun for all.  A few of the kids got squirts from a parent's water bottle while they were sitting in their trailers!
