The Boulder Indoor Velodrome is an awesome place if you like bikes. Here is a fun video of some of the Friday night racing action with a few STRIDER cameos to boot.  Make sure you head over for the Cycle Tyke classes for kids from 2-10 with the youngsters all riding STRIDERS!

This last summer they brought down a team of STRIDER riders for the STRIDER World Cup races at the USA Pro Cycling Challenge...they did VERY well.

Watch the video, put on your lycra, grab your track bike and have a great weekend!

Night Time Is The Right Time!

There is something about riding a bike at night...Jane has already discovered this at the age of 3. With the lack of daylight hours in Striderville lights are even a good idea before dinner! Here is the story from her Mom.

"We came home at 7:30 last night. As I parked the car, 3-year-old Jane asked, "Mommy, ride my bike please?" I hesitated long enough to remember that we keep bike lights charged and she already had her jacket on. "Sure honey!" So Jane had her first night ride on her Strider. So rad! Thanks for a great product!"

Hopefully there are many more night rides in her biking future!

Have a great weekend whether you get out for a ride at night or not.

STRIDER: Helping The Youngest Keep Up Since 2007!

Being the youngest kid can be difficult...especially when all your siblings are zooming around on their bikes. Hopefully after the Christmas season we'll get more stories like this in our inbox! (only 18 days left...hint, hint)

"My son received this bike for his third birthday. He has ridden it nearly everyday since then (11 months ago). He has such freedom to ride and coast with this bike. It lets him keep up with his older siblings, and it has given him great confidence on a bike. I know that he could easily move to a two-wheel "regular" bike now, but this Strider is so much fun for him that I am simply buying the extended-height seat post to give him another year on it. I highly, highly recommend this bike!"  ~Kelley (Mom of 4)

The Next Tinker Juarez?

As a four time 24 hour endurance national champion (and Father) it means something when Tinker Juarez says, “It is a MUST for toddlers! Strider is seriously the best balance bike on the market. My son Joshua was using the Strider as soon as he was able to walk well and we think it is the best way to teach children balance and coordination.”

Whether little Axel is gunning for Tinker's spot or not! The Tinker Signed Special Edition IMBA STRIDER he won is going to be the perfect first bike to help him do it. From the looks of the photos that his Aunt sent us he has a personality as big as Tinker as well! Stride On Axel, Stride On!

This would be a super fun project to do with your STRIDER riders on a cold Winter day.  I love this video because, similar to a card in the spokes, it shows how something simple can make a bike unique and put a smile on anyone's face.

My daughter would be really impressed with a galloping horse...what would your STRIDER rider want to put on their wheel?

Enjoy the video and enjoy your STRIDERday!

Happy Striderday: Oregon Edition

Here is a video manifesto for this Striderday post from Bicycle Transportation Alliance in Oregon.  Striderville isn't quite up to par with Portland yet, but we do have an amazing bike path, more than amazing mountain bike trails and some progressive city council members working hard to get more bike lines.

Hopefully, one day cities all over the world will be more bike friendly!

Happy Striderday: West Coast Road Trip

Tim V. uploaded a great video to StriderLife.com on Thursday that chronicles his Son's (Daniel a.k.a. Tito) Strider fun from their month long road trip up the West Coast of the US.

If you've got a couple extra minutes check out the longer video with some footage of Tito's kite attached to his Strider (7:27 mark) and then get outside and make some family memories of your own!

Striders, Manatees and Dolphins...Oh My!

The Strider World Championship is going to be a great time for the entire family.  There is a packed schedule: Strider Rider Clinic, BBQ, Last Chance Qualifier, Time for parents with free childcare, a Luau, and much, much more!

If you're looking for some additional things to do on your downtime (other than sleep) in Sarasota for the Strider World Championship Here are 3 cool suggestions! Head over to Strider Life and give suggestions if you live near or have been to Sarasota before.

1. Kayak Tour of the Mangrove Tunnels in South Lido County Park - Across the street from the Helmsley Sandcastle (Strider HQ) is South Lido County Park.  This would be a great way to make family memories paddling a kayak with the Manatees and Dolphins that frequent the area from March to December.

2. Mote Marine Laboratory - Another great way to see marine life, Mote Marine Lab is only 2.5 miles away from Strider HQ and is free for kids under 4!  At Mote, you can explore the secrets of the sea through touch pools, viewable-working labs and high-tech interactive exhibits that showcase the world-renowned research of Mote Marine Laboratory. See sharks, dolphins, manatees and sea turtles, along with more than 100 other species of marine life.

3. Sitting and Relaxing on the Lido Key Beaches - Walk out of your Room at the Helmsley Sandcastle to beautiful white sand beaches and the warm Gulf (Average water temps in the low 80's for October!) waters.  This is the perfect (free) way to have some quality relaxation time with your Strider riders between all of the other events.  Search for shells, built a sandcastle, bury Mom or Dad in the sand...the possibilities are limited to your imagination!
