Alex And His Dad Are Hitting The Trails Again!

About a month ago We posted a great video of Alex poaching his first Single Track with his Dad...He's at it again!  This time they're riding at Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area. We can't wait to see how Alex progresses in his trail handling skills. He's only three and he is already taking the inside track on his Dad!

We love these videos because they are very well produced (Keep it up Ben) and they also show the versatility of the Strider. Whether you're cruising around the neighborhood on your nightly walk, or ripping up some single track they are a perfect way to master balance, be active in the out of doors and most importantly...HAVE FUN!

Stride On Alex...Let us know when you're riding in the 24 hours of Afton!

Henry has been the subject of at least one other blog post, this great video find from YouTube gets him in again.  He is a little Strider Shredder from Colorado! At 26 months old his Dad was so excited he dubbed him a "Strider Bike Master"!  His sister, Sammi is already tearing up the pump track with a little help from Dad! The Go Pro videos are always a neat way to experience Strider riding from a different perspective. The smile on the face of the Henry is fun to see!

Have a Great Monday wherever you may be!  If you're in Colorado make sure you check us out all week at the finish festivals for the USA Pro Cycling Challenge and at the Strider World Cup race on the final day (August 28th) in Denver!  We'll have the largest Strider World Cup race to date only 2 blocks from the largest single sporting event in Colorado history! Now get outside and ride!

Strider Sports At Outdoor Retailer

Todd and I recently loaded up the Strider Van, threw on the bike rack and headed out of South Dakota, through the great state of Wyoming and over the border into Utah!  The Summer Outodoor Retailer Show was our destination.

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="600" caption="Strider Van at Independence rock a.k.a. middle of nowhere Wyoming."]Independence from trikes and training wheels![/caption]

What a great combination; the outdoorsy crowd (20-40 year olds with kids) and Strider (helping 20-40 year olds get back out in the outdoors with a mobile toddler)! We had a lot of people stop by the booth to thank us, sharing stories about what Strider has meant to them and how it has helped their kids be more active. We also had many people stop to watch the videos we had playing who had never heard of such a thing..this just goes to show that we still have work to do.

The great thing about working at Strider is that we also have a ton of fun as shown in the picture below:

Bike Commuting Never Looked Cooler!

We weren't able to understand the dialogue at the end of this cool video, but the amazing riding speaks for itself! If everybody commuted like this guy the world would be a much more interesting place!

Enjoy the Video, then get outside and enjoy the weekend with your Strider Rider! Maybe if they keep practicing on their Striders more people will commute like this in the not too distant future.

Try Not To Smile!

We've got a lot of stuff going on here at Strider Sports International: First visit to the Outdoor Retailer Show in Salt Lake City, Strider Adventure Zones at 6 Stops of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge with what will be the largest 'Strider World Cup' Race on the final day in downtown Denver, 5 more Strider World Cup races on the schedule, www.StriderLife.com taking off with some great conversations from parents and Strider fans and our Facebook page crossing the 2,000 fan threshold!

In the midst of all this activity it's nice to step back and remember why we do what we do.  This great video from a Strider parent is just such a reminder.  At Strider, we want to teach kids balance and foster a love for all things two wheeled.  A great side effect is that parents are enjoying quality time with their kids and involving them in things that they are passionate about.

Watch this video of Alex out for a ride with his Dad and try not to smile...we dare you!

So Much More

This weekend, as I watched 15 Strider riders racing around a grassy track a man caught my eye and said, "Those are pretty neat little toys." My first reaction was, "Yeah they are!"

While watching the kids (1.5 to 5 years old) rip around the track, balance on boards, and Stride over teeter-totters I thought to myself, "These are so much more than toys."

I was still thinking about it while getting into Strider Sports World Headquarters on Monday and plugged into "Social Media land" to find this great video of Strider racers in Maine from our new friends over at Thorfinn Expeditions.

As most of you know from watching the Strider riders in your life, the sense of accomplishment, fun, balance and the beginning of a love for all things two wheeled make Striders so much more than a toy!
