When your dad drives a race car and you see how much fun he has on the track, wouldn’t you be excited to get on your race face and compete? Pasha Ali just turned three years old, and is pumped up for the Strider Cup Race Series, which kicks off in Fort Worth, Texas, on May 6. He’s already practicing his “Winner’s Dance.”

Pasha’s father, Nur Ali, has 19 years of racing under his belt. He raced for Team Pakistan in A1 Grand Prix - World Cup of Motorsport, captured two Legends Car Championships, and two Formula Mazda Championships. Nur has competed in twelve countries on five continents, as well as in select NASCAR Xfinity Series and ARCA Racing Series races. He now races in the Red Bull Global Rallycross (GRC) Series.Pasha Ali 1 lower res

Nur first learned about balance bikes while surfing online and fell in love with the concept. After purchasing a balance bike when Pasha turned two years old, Nur went online to look for a racing series for balance bikes. He was impressed with how quickly Pasha progressed and knew if he found a series for Pasha to race in, that would accelerate his skills.

He came across Strider Bikes and the Strider Cup Racing series and said, “Imagine my excitement at that point; I told my wife, my sports agent, my brother and my parents about it and bought him a Strider bike.”

Riding his Strider Bike has helped Pasha improve his balance, coordination and develop quicker reflexes. With Nur’s motorsports background, he has been able to guide him on his balance bike and get him up to speed with things he’s learned over the years of being a race car driver.

Pasha loves his Strider Bike so much that he is constantly asking Nur to race him by running behind him. He says that he wants to be the 2017 Strider Cup Champion. Pasha takes one of Nur’s trophies and does a mock race inside the house. When he "wins" over Nur, he takes the trophy, climbs the staircase in the house to the top step and uses it as his own "winner's podium". He takes the trophy and raises it over his head and does the "Winner Dance"; what the family calls his celebratory gig.

He spent the entire 2015 Red Bull GRC race season and partial 2016 Red Bull GRC race season at the track with Nur, and he loves watching the racing on his tablet.

The Ali family is planning to travel to all four Strider Cup races this year; Fort Worth, TX, on May 6, Pittsburgh, PA, on May 27, Lincoln, NE, on June 11 and the championships in Salt Lake City on July 21-22.

Pasha, who is also known as a fashion model with a Texas PR agency, usually rides his bike in the neighborhood, local parks, and the golf course behind his house. The Ali family is also planning to go to some local BMX bike tracks to practice for the upcoming series.

“I’m very excited about this season for both of us, as this is the year both father and son race in the same calendar year; he in the Strider Cup and myself in Red Bull GRC series,” said Nur. “I've also got my sports agent working on possibly picking up a sponsorship for Pasha. That would be pretty cool!”

Details on the Strider Cup Series and other Strider events are at striderbikes.com/events. More info on Nur Ali Motorsports is at nurali.com

Strider Bikes Announces 2017 Strider Cup® National Race Series for Toddlers
Tiny Strider® Bike Riders to Compete on Custom-Designed Tracks from Coast to Coast

Rapid City, SD (November 17, 2016) — Strider Bikes, the world’s leading manufacturer and marketer of children’s no-pedal balance bikes, is pleased to announce the dates and locations for its 2017 Strider Cup, a national Strider Bike racing series for toddlers and children. These family-friendly races for the tiniest competitors will give small children a chance to put their Strider Balance Bike skills to the test at three stops across the country next spring and summer, as well as the final worldwide event next July, the Strider Cup World Championship event.

The unique Strider Cup race series caters directly to children between 2 and 5 years old who want to show off their riding skills and compete in a friendly atmosphere against other Strider riders. Children of all sizes and skill levels are welcome to participate. Strider No-Pedal Balance Bikes are developed for both learning the ropes of riding and honing advanced skills in racing.

You’ll find Strider Cup races in the following cities in 2017:
• Saturday, May 6: Fort Worth, TX, at Sundance Square
• Saturday, May 27: Pittsburgh, PA, at Southside Works
• Saturday, June 10: Lincoln, NE, at Tower Square

The series-ending Strider Cup World Championship race will be held July 22 at Gallivan Center
in Salt Lake City, UT, where nearly 250 toddlers competed on the custom Strider track in 2016. Organizers are expecting over 400 toddler-aged racers from around the world to compete at this pinnacle event.

There will be races for 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-year olds at each event. Registration fee is $25, and will open in January. Racers will receive a Strider goodie bag valued at more than $50 with their registration.
Pre-registration will be available soon; visit http://www.striderbikes.com/events for further information. Sponsors for the 2017 events include Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, LDS Hospital, FedEx, Amica Insurance, and more.

For the second year in a row, Strider will host races for athletes with special needs at each of the events. These athletes will race the 12” balance bike models, as well as Strider’s new, larger 16” and 20” balance bikes, which the company launched in 2014 specifically for the special needs community.

A typical Strider race scene features excited and proud young parents and grandparents eagerly encouraging their young racers as bright yellow cowbells are rung and the starting gate drops. Toddlers, some still in diapers, lean forward, kick their short legs, and embark upon their 600-foot plus journey over obstacles from dirt mounds to wooden ramps. All racers are treated to a celebratory podium award ceremony immediately following their main race, where they will receive either a trophy or a medal and pose for the crowd of proud parents and spectators.

As one parent put it, “My son loves his Strider Bike and this event has given him a great way to race, go fast, and feel like a big kid without having to navigate pedals.”

Participating in any of these events automatically qualifies the rider for the Strider Cup World Championship. Please visit our website at http://www.striderbikes.com/events for more information.

Thank You Soooo much for coming out to the 2016 Strider Cup World Championship!

What a great finish to the US 2016 Strider Cup racing season! With stops in Lincoln, Nebraska, Salt Lake City, Utah, Spokane, Washington, and finally our Strider Cup World Championship in San Francisco, California it was definitely a year to remember!

The Strider Cup World Championship on San Francisco's Pier 35 (right next to Fisherman’s Wharf Pier 39) was an amazing event! The venue had the advantage of being covered, but with the large garage doors open felt like you were on the water with beautiful San Francisco vistas. With a total of 302 Strider racers it was the largest race we've ever held. Nine different countries participated with the largest groups from Japan (25) and Equador (15).

Our hopes and goals for this race was simple, to give riders (of all abilities) an enjoyable weekend! Hopefully, your Strider rider will remember the camaraderie, fun race competition, and continue to gain confidence on their Strider Bikes!

We're already in the planning stages for 2017! Make sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest to get the latest news.

What a GREAT day of Strider Cup racing in Spokane's Riverfront Park! We were a little nervous when we woke up to clouds and a light rain, but the skies cleared and little legs strode over, through and around various obstacles. We ended up with 188 registered racers. Happy, smiling faces received medals and trophies as champions were crowned in 2 and under, 3, 4, 5 year old, and special needs divisions. Don't forget, everyone who participated is welcome to attend the Strider Cup World Championships in San Francisco, California, July 29th and 30th.

A huge thank you to all the racers, their families, and to our sponsor, Toyota, for the wonderful support. It could not have been as amazing without you!

Speaking for the staff of Strider (and all of the amazing volunteers) we had a wonderful time in Spokane exploring the city and the beautiful Riverfront Park, but most of all enjoyed race day along with the enthusiasm and stories that surrounded the Strider experience of the racers.

We've got some great photos posted on our Flickr page. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to catch all the latest Strider Happenings!

Strider returned to Salt Lake City, Utah June 25th for another fun-filled day of toddler racing! 244 Strider riders rolled into Pioneer Park for the 2016 Strider Cup Race. Not a cloud in the sky and some super striding made for some great race action! Happy, smiling faces received trophies as champions were crowned in 2 and under, 3, 4, 5 year old, and special needs divisions. Don't forget, everyone who participated is welcome to attend the Strider Cup World Championships in San Francisco, California, July 29th and 30th.

A huge thank you to all the racers, their families, and to our sponsor, Intermountain LDS hospital, for the wonderful support.  It could not have been as amazing without you!

Speaking for the staff of Strider we had a wonderful time in Salt Lake City exploring the city and the beautiful Downtown Farmers Market , but most of all enjoyed race day along with the enthusiasm and stories that surrounded the Strider experience of those racers.

We've got some great photos posted on our Flickr page. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to catch all the latest STRIDER Happenings!

LincolnOverview

I believe that I saw fire coming off of those tires on Saturday at the first stop of the 2016 Strider Cup in Lincoln Nebraska!

A big thank you for everyone who braved the heat and showed up at the Railyard in Lincoln to have a great time and race with their fellow Strider riders. The day was indeed warm but it was bearable (especially with ice cream nearby)! A total of 120 racers took part in the first ever Strider Cup race in Lincoln and champions were crowned in the 2, 3, 4 and 5 year old classes along with 3 special needs divisions. A total of 28 out of state racers made the journey from 9 states outside of Nebraska.

Also thanks goes out to our main Sponsor Raising Cane’s along with the Lincoln Convention and Visitor’s bureau, and the Railyard.

Speaking for the staff of Strider we had a wonderful time in Lincoln exploring the sites and the very cool Haymarket area, but most of all enjoyed race day along with the enthusiasm and stories that surrounded the Strider experience of those racers.

We've got some great photos posted on our Flickr page with more to come next week. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to catch all the latest STRIDER Happenings!
