International Business Development Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced International Business Account Manager to oversee our global client portfolio and drive revenue growth in international markets. The International Business Account Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key clients, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring customer satisfaction across various regions. This individual will serve as the direct point of contact for some international clients, providing strategic guidance, resolving issues, and coordinating cross-functional efforts to deliver value-added solutions. They will also serve as the internal connection for our remote account managers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales or account management, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multicultural environment. This person reports directly to the Director of Revenue and is responsible for working with business partners to develop and execute business plans, marketing strategies, and channel management to increase sales and market penetration in several key countries.

Responsibilities: 

  • Identify and evaluate market opportunities for expansion into international markets, conducting market research, competitive analysis, and feasibility studies.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies and action plans to achieve growth targets and maximize market penetration.
  • Lead negotiations and contract discussions with potential partners and clients, ensuring favorable terms and conditions that align with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Product Development, and Operations, to align business development efforts with overall corporate strategies and objectives.
  • Provide strategic guidance and support to local sales teams or partners in international markets, including training, market insights, and sales enablement resources.
  • Build and maintain relationships with prospective clients, partners, distributors, and industry stakeholders in target regions, leveraging networks and attending industry events to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and competitor activities in international markets, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with international clients, serving as the main point of contact for all business-related inquiries, issues, and requests.
  • Understand clients’ business objectives, challenges, and needs, and proactively identify opportunities to provide value-added solutions and services.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with clients to review performance metrics, discuss challenges and opportunities, and develop strategies for achieving mutual business objectives.
  • Coordinate and manage the end-to-end sales process, including prospecting, lead generation, proposal development, negotiation, and contract closure.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products or services to clients, coordinating with internal teams to address any issues or concerns that may arise.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed to meet with clients, attend industry events, and build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Work with existing franchisees, brand representatives, and dealers to support growth throughout their respective regions and identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Develop and execute individual country plans through application of sales disciplines, company strategy and go-to-market guidelines.
  • Improve customer performance and ROI through frequent and effective conversations using web conferencing as well as occasional international travel for face-to-face meetings.
  • Help partners with their entrepreneurial activities and to focus efforts on the highest value opportunities.
  • Monitor the brand presence to ensure alignment with the brand guide.
  • Work with the legal department regarding IP issues or infringements discovered in the territory.

    Qualifications: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Business, Marketing, or related field; experience in a similar role.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, negotiate effectively, and influence decision-making at all levels of an organization.
    • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and long-term business partnerships.
    • Able to develop accurate volume and financial forecasts.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead complex negotiations, influence decision-making, and close high-value deals.
    • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software; familiarity with market research tools and data analysis platforms is a plus.

        Physical Demands:  

        • Must be able to lift, carry, and move items up to 30 lbs.
        • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time using a phone, computer keyboard and monitor.

        Location and hours:  

        • This position is in Rapid City, SD.
        • Regular office hours are Mon-Thurs 7:30 am to 5 pm and Fri 8am to noon.
        • Hours will need to be flexed to achieve a 40 hour week.
        • Some travel and occasional support of weekend events should be anticipated.
        • Must be able to travel internationally.

        Pay:  

        • $65,000 – $85,000 depending upon experience and up to 20% annual bonus eligibility.
        • This full time, exempt position reports to the COO and qualifies for a full benefits package that includes paid time off, sick leave, a 401K plan, health insurance and an extensive list of perks.
